JDA WMS was positioned in 2016 Gartner Magic Quadrant; areas of interest include innovation, user experience, and completeness of vision.

On January 27, 2016, JDA Software announced the placement of two of its technologies in annual Gartner “Magic Quadrant” reports. JDA WMS was positioned as a Leader in the 2016 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), while the JDA suite of Supply Chain Planning Solutions was named a Leader in the 2016 Magic Quadrant for Supply Chain Planning (SCP) Systems of Record (SORs).

What is a Magic Quadrant report?

“JDA Software is a private U.S.-headquartered vendor that has grown to be the world’s largest best-of-breed supply chain software company — by a substantial margin.”

Gartner accumulates research in many technology markets, and then provides a wide-angle view of the leading vendors in each market sector in relation to each other on a two-by-two block, or quadrant, grid. This graphical treatment, called the Gartner Magic Quadrant, is designed to help you ascertain how well each provider is executing in their market given a standard set of evaluation criteria.

Vendors are placed in quadrants according to their positions as Niche Players, Challengers, Visionaries, and Leaders. The y axis judges a vendor’s “ability to execute” on their claims, and the x axis judges their “completeness of vision.” The Magic Quadrant is used by many IT buyers as a way to begin to understand the major players in a market when a specific kind of technology is under consideration. The report is usually only available for a rate comparable to reports of this type. However, JDA has made reprints available via their news release. JDA a best-of-breed supply chain software company

In this year’s Magic Quadrant for SCP SORs, analysts Tim Payne and Amber Salley said this about JDA:

“JDA Software is a private U.S.-headquartered vendor that has grown to be the world’s largest best-of-breed supply chain software company — by a substantial margin. Its latest merger brought the old JDA and RedPrairie companies together in late 2012. Its SCP portfolio is primarily a combination of legacy Manugistics, i2 Technologies and native JDA-developed capabilities.”

JDA Labs uses response planning, machine learning, visualization techniques, and much more to develop innovative solutions for its global customer base.
